Tinryland’s Junior A team got their championship back on track beating old Leighlin 2-12 to 0-11. Tinryland lead by 2 points at half time with Niall Barrett, Peter Doran and Shane O’Neill playing very well in defence. Keith Jackson put in a tremendous shift in midfield and it was his pass in the second half to Garry Moran that led to Tinryland’s second goal. The Junior A team now face Palatine on Mon 26th in Fenagh. Others who played well were Ronan Curran, Cormac O’Brien and the energetic Ciaran Townsend.


Sat 24th Aug the Senior footballers play Éire Óg in Group 1, round 3, in Netwatch Cullen Park @ 7.30pm. In JFC A, group 1, round 3, Tinryland meet neighbours Palatine Mon 26th Aug at 7.30pm in Fenagh Training Centre. Also, on Fri 23rd JFC B, Group 1, round 3 Tinryland V Askea.


The Juvenile Club hosted the inaugural Seanie Brennan Memorial Tournament for U9’s on Sat last. 102 children from six clubs including Tinryland, Palatine, St. Laurence’s (Kildare), Moyne-Templetuohy, HWH Bunclody and Kelleshin competed. Palatine Gaa claimed the cup with a victory over Tinryland in the final. This was followed by an evening of fun and activities for all children. Well done to Tinryland Juvenile Committee for organising this successful event. Thanks to all who supported this event.


Well done to Tommy Payne & JJ Murphy who represented Tinryland AC in the 5k at the National Masters in Tullamore on Sunday. Tommy won the 060 in a time of 17.13. JJ finished third in the 065 in 20.23.


Social dancing at club house every Monday night from 9.30 pm - Midnight. Admission €10. Dancing on Mon 26th Aug to Bernie & Boz.
