The new year in Tinryland GFC kicked off to a great start with a massive Christmas draw on New Year’s Eve, followed by music from Dave O’Neill. Prize winners include: 1st Gareth Mc Laughlin - Holiday voucher, 2nd Cathal Gaffney - TV, 3rd Maureen Byrne - Weekend away. List of all prize winners available on Tinryland GFC website & Facebook page. Thanks to all who contributed to a successful fundraising event for the club. Wishing all our club members and their families a happy and peaceful 2020.


Tinryland GFC AGM was held on Mon 16th Dec. A new committee was elected as follows – President Joe O’Gorman, Vice Presidents David Byrne, David Power, Pat Hayden & Pat Foster.  Chairperson Bernard Mullen, vice Chairperson Mick Murphy, Secretary Enda Dunican, Insurance officer Greg Doyle, Treasurer Lee Buggle, PRO Eileen Cahill, Co. Board rep Joe Walshe, Irish officer Brian Deane and child welfare officer Mick Ryan.


Lotto results for Mon 30th Dec: the numbers drawn were 10, 15, 16, 18. There was no jackpot winner. Winners of €25 lucky dips: Brian Deane, Seamus Brophy, Clem Delaney and June Hickey. Promoters’ prize: Tom Delaney. Next week’s jackpot €3,000. Lotto now available online at

Turkey Trot:

The Annual Tinryland AC Turkey trot took place on St. Stephens morning saw 111 walkers, joggers & runners complete the 4 mile lap of the parish. Colin Payne was presented with the Seamus Galway cup as winner in 21.51 secs. Runner up was Larry Murphy in 23.32. The first lady home was Louise Oprea in 28.29 followed by Niamh Curran in 28.30. Well done to all who took part, all proceeds this year will be shared between Tinryland senior citizens group and Tinryland first responders.

January Challenge 31 for 31:

Chairman challenge - walk the club track every night at 7.31 for 31 minutes for 31 days. All welcome. Please sign in at bar.

Chase the Ace:                                                                       

We are playing chase the ace in the club on Sundays at 9pm. Entry €2 or 3 for €5 for a chance to turn for the Ace of hearts.


Social dancing at club house every Monday night from 9.30 pm - Midnight. Admission €10. Dancing on Mon 13th Jan to Dermot Lyons.

Trad Session:

Our first trad session of 2020 takes place next Sunday 12th January from 6-9pm. As usual, all are welcome, young to old, beginner to advanced.
