It was another very active week at both juvenile and adult level in the club. The senior team received a walk over from O’Hanrahans in division 1 and have now qualified for the knockout stages of the league. The team is back in action on next Sunday evening at home to Eire Og in the penultimate game in the league stages.

The No. 1 junior team was involved in a very competitive game against Old Leighlin on Tuesday last and won the league points after a two point victory. A 25th minute goal by full forward Padraic Whelan and superb goalkeeping from Ciaran Byrne proved to be the difference between these two evenly matched teams. Outstanding for Tinryland were goalkeeper Ciaran Byrne together with Conor Ryan, John Paul Moore, Shane O’Neill, Peter Hennessy, Michael Dobosz, and Padraic Whelan.

The juniors have two games remaining in division 3 against Leighlinbridge on Tuesday 16th May and against Palatine on Tuesday 23rd May and need to win both to reach the knockout stages.

The No. 2 junior team who are struggling for numbers were well beaten by St. Andrew’s in McGrath Park on Wednesday last.

At juvenile level the U16 team are going well and recorded another fine victory over O’Hanrahans on Wednesday last. They followed this up with another success against Kildavin-Clonegal on Friday. Tinryland had the game against O’Hanrahans wrapped up by half time and eventually ran out easy winners by 5-18 to 0-5. Outstanding for the hoops were Daniel Donegan, Sam Byrne, Evan McGuire, Cormac O’Brien, Aongus O’ Se, Padraig Thompson and Cian Nicholl.

A youthful U14 team were defeated by Naomh Eoin in division 2 but performed very well in the Carlow Feile on last Sunday morning when they defeated Fenagh in the quarter final before losing to Naomh Eoin by 3 points in the semi-final. Outstanding for the boys in blue and white were Michael Regan, Seamus McCullough, Conor Carew, Cian McCreanor, Joe Regan and Ruairi Scully. The U12 team had another successful outing against Eire Og in division 2 on Saturday last.

A table quiz for adults and juvenile members will be held in the clubhouse on Friday 19th May commencing at 8.p.m. All club members including parents are urged to support this fundraising venture. Tables consisting of 2 adults and 2 juveniles cost €20.
