Tinryland Duo in Historic Carlow Victory

posted 12 Jun 2011, 12:06 by
Pride is one word that encapsulates the Tinryland club this evening as it salutes its county players who made a vital contribution in Carlow's historic victory against Louth to reach the Leinster semi-final against Wexford. Shane Redmond not only captained the Carlow side but also played a vital sweeper role as Louth piled on the pressure in the final quarter. Trevor O'Reilly in his championship debut had a flawless performance. His point blank save in the opening minutes was the catalyst for the Carlow victory. He made a number of vital interceptions and his long penetrating kickouts put serious pressure on the Louth half back line. Finally, the club commiserates with its loyal member John McCullough whose words 'support your county, it might be your only chance' have become immortalised in Facebook. Little did John John know that he was actually speaking to himself when wrote those prophetic words......Ceatharlach Abú !!!
