Tinryland Seniors Make it 2 Wins in a Row in SFC

Our senior team showed character and tenacity last night as they overcame a stern test from a Rathvilly side that refused to go down without a fight. Tinryland led by 8 points to 4 at half time but a different Rathvilly side emerged in the second half. Despite bringing the match back to a draw on a number of occasions, a dogged Tinryland defence never allowed the Rathvilly men to take the lead. The match was looking like a draw in the final minutes when Evan Doyle used his physical prowess under a high ball and drove a stake into the heart of the Rathvilly revival with a goal. This match really came to life in the second half and provided far more entertainment than the dour/predictable affairs screened on Sky sports. Final score, Tinryland 1-11 Rathvilly 1-7. Congratulations to both teams on giving everything on an evening that was perfect for football. Tinryland had great support and we need even more supporters as we move towards the business end of the championship after the 5 week break. Well done again lads.
