A weekend for 2 in any one of over 20 Great National hotels is the star door prize for the forthcoming Tinryland G.F.C. and Bennekerry-Tinryland ladies G.F.C. dinner dance. The event will be held on Friday 2nd March at the Seven Oaks Hotel and tickets can be purchased in the clubhouse or from any committee member of the two clubs. On the night presentations will be made to last year’s successful men’s U21 team and to the 3 in a row ladies team that won their 3rd consecutive Carlow S.F.C. in 2017.

Best wishes to the members of both Tinryland G.F.C. and BT ladies for this weekend’s national football league fixtures against Waterford and Fermanagh respectively. In the Allianz N.F.L. division 4 Carlow travel to Waterford on Saturday next for a 4 p.m. throw in against the Deise. This game will now take place at the Waterford I.T. grounds instead of the original venue in Dungarvan. Tinryland players Paul Broderick, Cian Lawlor, Danny Moran, Shane Redmond and Diarmaid Walshe will be travelling with the Carlow panel on Saturday

In the Lidl ladies N.F.L. division 4 Carlow face a tough assignment away to Fermanagh on Sunday. Bennekerry-Tinryland players Roisin Byrne, Nuala Mohan, Ciara Nolan and Elaine Ware will be part of the Carlow panel travelling to the Ulster venue.

Training for all adult players will be held on Tuesday’s and Fridays under team manager Martin Doyle and his backroom team of Niall Barrett, Paul Kenny and P.J. Murphy. Players are reminded that registration fees are now due.

Congratulations to local athletes Marcus Lawler and Adam Murphy who performed well at last weekend’s national senior indoor championships in Abbottstown. Marcus was the silver medallist in a high class 60m while Adam did very well to reach the final of the 200m. Both men were recently successful in the colours of Carlow I.T at the national Universities indoor championships and they will now turn their attention to the upcoming outdoor season.
