Junior B team lose out to Leighlinbridge in Round 10 of S.F.L. Div 5

Tinruland Junior B team had no answer to a strong Leighlinbridge outfit in round 10 of the S.F.L. Div. 5 in Rathcrogue on Monday 12th May. Tinryland did match the All Blacks for most of the opening half scoring 1-4 to their opponents 2-5. The Tinryland goal came in the 11th minute when Mick Delaney raised a green flag. Delaney was also responsible for scoring 3 points in that opening half with Mark Lawlor scoring Tinryland’s other point. Half Time score Leighlinbridge 2-5 Tinryland 1-4

The second half saw Leighlinbridge up the tempo scoring 1-4 without reply in the opening 10 minutes. Greg Murphy resumed the Tinryland scoring in the 40th minute with a well taken point following a good pass from Mick Moore. Padraic Whelan added another point to Tinryland’s tally in the 43rd minute before Leighlinbridge struck for their 4th goal via John Townsend.

The final stages of this game was marred by a serious injury to Tinryland defender Paddy Browne after an incident with less than 10 minutes remaining.

In the closing stages Eoin Fields scored a consolation goal for Tinryland.   Final score Leighlinbridge 6-14 Tinryland 2-6. Tinryland’s remaining games in this division are as follows.
