Tinryland got their first victory in Division 5 with a comprehensive victory over O’Hanrahans at Deerpark on Tuesday 3rd May.  This win was due reward for the commitment of the team to date and with 2 games remaining hopes are high that our 3rd squad can maintain their winning ways against Fighting Cocks on Tuesday 10th May and against Ballon on Tuesday 17th May. This match was a game of 2 halves dominated by a strong wind.

In the first half Tinryland played into the town end against the elements and only managed 2 scores in the half hour. A Gavin Power goal kept Tinryland in the hunt as the home side clocked up one goal and seven points. Half Time score O’Hanrahans 1-7 Tinryland 1-1.

The second half saw a transformed Tinryland play their best football of the season aided by the introduction of Conor Ryan and the returning Sean Kirwan. Over the course of the 2nd half Tinryland rattled the Blues net 5 times with the goal scorers being Brian Mullen, Barry Power, Killian Maher, Eoin Fields and Garry Scully. Some tremendous defensive work by goalkeeper Mick Delaney and supported by Sean Regan, Joey Ryan, Paddy Byrne, Sean Kirwan, John Whyte and Cormac Kelly kept O’Hanrahans at bay and with a great performance by mid fielders John Jackson and Adam Mullen the Tinryland forwards received a plentiful supply of the ball. Final score Tinryland 6-5,  O’Hanrahans 2-10.
