Tinryland minors maintained their winning streak in this year’s M.F.C. (B) with a 4th consecutive victory at Spellman park Kildavin on Monday 22nd August.

The result of this game was in little doubt from an early stage against Kildavin-Clonegal as the boys in blue and white built up a 12 point advantage in the opening 20 minutes. A succession of points from sharpshooter Ronan Curran together with more from Eoin Hosey, Keelan Gaffney, Rory Doyle and Michael Dobosz built up a 7 point to nil lead by the 15th minute. Ronan Curran then added Tinryland’s opening goal after good work from Rory Doyle and Rory Dunbar and the centre forward who finished with a first half tally of 2-6 rattled the net once again in the 26th minute following more good play by Dunbar and Eamonn Murphy. Tinryland conceded their first score to the home side in the 23rd minute when corner forward Aaron Lynness rattled Cian Nolan’s net but further points from Conor Brennan, Ronan Curran and Keelan Gaffney saw the game virtually wrapped up by the time Clonmore referee Jimmy Lawlor sounded the half time whistle. Half time score Tinryland 3-11 Kildavin-Clonegal 1-1.

The second half began with Tinryland showing 3 changes. Aubrey Bradley, Alan Grogan and Luke Fleming were introduced into the fray. Within 3 minutes Tinryland had the ball in Niall Fitzpatrick’s net once again after a superb Michael Dobosz finish following excellent play by Tommy Dunne. Kildavin responded almost immediately however when Jack Redmond raised his sides 2nd green flag.

The goals kept coming and Eoin Hosey was next on the scoresheet when he was on hand to finish Rory Moore’s rebound to the net. Hosey who was excellent throughout repeated this feat in the 40th minute when he dispossessed a defender to score another major. To their credit Kildavin-Clonegal never stopped trying despite the avalanche of scores against them and they responded with consolation points from Jack Redmond and Ryan Dobbs. Tinryland coasted to the finish with a succession of points from Rory Doyle, another Michael Dobosz goal and further points from Rory Dunbar and sub Aubrey Bradley. Final score Tinryland 7-16 Kildavin-Clonegal 2-3.

Outstanding for Tinryland were Tommy Dunne, Eamonn Murphy, Rory Doyle, Conor Ryan, Keelan Gaffney, while all six forwards including the superb Ronan Curran, Eoin Hosey and Michael Dobosz figured on the scoresheet.
