This match proved to be a one-sided affair on a wintry evening in June. In effect, the game was over as a contest as a contest when Tinryland took a seven point lead after 10 minutes (points from Robbie Powerand Alan Barrett and goals from Ian Scully Cormac Walshe). Tinryland went on to score seven more points and the home side only managed two points, one in the fourth minute and one in injury time.

The second half was almost a mirror image of the first with goals from Scully and Walsh backed up with seven more points. Once again, the Tullow side could only manage two points in the second half.

Despite the greasy conditions the game was played in a good spirit. Unfortunately, St Patrick’s rising star Jack Kennedy went over on his ankle and appeared to suffer a very painful break or fracture. In a sporting gesture both sides applauded Kennedy as he was stretchered off the pitch by both Tullow and Tinryland mentors.
