Tinryland 3rds exited the Talbot Hotel Carlow J.F.C. (B) when losing out to Naomh Eoin’s 2nd squad at the training Centre in Fenagh on Wednesday 22nd August. In a cagey first half Naomh Eoin struck first when Jamie Hogan found the Tinryland net as early as the 4th minute. Tinryland immediately replied with a well taken Barry Power point but this proved to be the only score the boys in blue and white could muster in the opening half. They were dealt another blow as early as the 10th minute when wing forward Joe Byrne received his marching orders and despite heroic defensive work the Myshall men added 3 further points to their first half tally from Jamie Hogan, Eanna  Kavanagh and Andrew Redmond. Half time score Naomh Eoin 1-3 Tinryland 0-1.

Naomh Eoin increased their advantage as early as 30 seconds in to the 2nd half and they pulled further clear with an Owen Doyle point in the 31st minute. A penetrating run from Seamus Curran finished to the net by Barry Power gave Tinryland a life line in the 32nd minute and when Richie Whyte slotted over a point one minute later only 3 points separated the sides. Naomh Eoin then regrouped to dominate the next quarter and they raced into a 10 point lead courtesy of great points from Eanna Kavanagh (2), Michael treacy, Johnny Murphy, Treacy again, Andy Redmond and Johnny Murphy. Tinryland had introduced Harry Hennessy, Cathal Whelan, Ross Byrne and Adam Buggle into the fray at this stage and had the misfortune to miss a penalty when Brian Beano Mullen’s spot kick was well saved by Myshall goalie Damien Jordan. The game finished with 2 further Richie Whyte points to leave the final score Naomh Eoin 1-13 Tinryland 1-4
