SFL Division 1   Tinryland 1-18   Mount Leinster Rangers 1-05

Fresh after their exploits in the Dingle Penninsula, Tinryland welcomed MLR onto the IT Carlow pitch with a standing ovation after their recent All-Ireland victory. MLR opened the scoring on the second minute but that proved to be their only score of the first half. Five points from Paul Broderick  and one each from Glen Doyle, Jeff Sutton and Padraig Townsend saw Tinryland enter the break leasing by 8 points to 1.

Having sustained a bad injury, MLR played virtually all of the second half with 14 men and managed to score 1-04. However, Tinryland managed to score 1-10 (Alan Barrett 1-03,  Paul Broderick 0-3, Jeff Sutton 0-2, Glen Doyle 0-1 and Cian Moore 0-1)  in the second half and ran out comfortable winners in the end. This was a match marred by mistakes but was played in a clean and competitive spirit.
