Tinryland lost their unbeaten record in this seasons S.F.L. division 1 when losing out to a slick Eire Og outfit at Rathcrogue on Sunday 14th May. In a game watched by a sizeable crowd Tinryland who are already qualified for the knockout stages opened the scoring in the 4th minute with a Cormac Walshe point. Eire Og opened their account in the 9th minute with a point from centre forward Mark Kelly. In a low scoring first half Eire Og enjoyed the better scoring rate and full forward Murtough Ware who was on fire added a further 1-2 to their tally as Tinryland were forced to substitute  defender John Murphy who had picked up a nasty ankle injury in the early stages with Conor Byrne. Tinryland rallied in the latter stages of the first half and points from Keith Jackson, Conor McGrath, and Peter Hennessy left the scoreline 1-5 to 0-6 in Eire Og’s favour when Ballinkillen referee Pat Murphy sounded the half time whistle.

Eire Og added on 3 early second half points via Kelvin Chatten, Murtough Ware and Cormac Mullins before Cian Lawlor opened the Tinryland 2nd half account in the 39th minute. A further brace from Ware was matched by Tinryland points from Walshe and James Mcgrath which left the scoreboard reading 1-11 to 0-9 entering the final quarter. Tinryland rang the changes from the bench bringing on Mark Lawlor, Ciaran Larkin, Paul Doyle, Glen Doyle and Padraic Whelan but Eire Og maintained their impressive scoring rate adding further points from Mark Kelly, Simon Rea and Cormac Mullins while Tinryland put some respectability on the scoreboard with a James Mcgrath goal from a free in the dying stages. Final score Eire Og 1-15 Tinryland 1-9.
